Job Description

Duration: 58 days
Shift will be 8am-6pm 7 days a week client will schedule them for 4 days per week but it will rotate days so need to be willing to work Some weekends

Spanish bilingual preferred but not required.

Example of duties:
Specific assignments vary according to the program assigned but may include all or a combination of the tasks described below:
Answers inquiries and explains agency/program policies to individuals and groups within the community.
  • Provides translation and/or services, schedules appointments, purchases food and supplies for clients who are physically or mentally impaired. Refers individuals and families to available community educational, medical, legal and employment resources; follows-up on referrals or appointments scheduled.
  • Drives County vehicles to pick up or deliver clients or supplies.
  • Keeps records of clients served, payments received and clinic activities; orders supplies and prepares routine reports.
May lead group presentations and workshops on specialized topics including substance abuse, home management skills, job skills or health and nutrition to help individuals and families develop a healthier or more self-sufficient lifestyle.
May supervise clients during approved visitations or activities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Some to thorough knowledge of (depending on level within the series): agency and program policies and procedures; community structure and resources; group and family dynamics; County roads and buildings; problems, needs and behavioral patterns of the clientele served; and specialized topics for group presentation.
Some to working ability to (depending on level within the series): follow instructions; effectively communicate with individuals and groups from diverse cultural, social and economic backgrounds; transport passengers in a safe and timely manner; write case chronologies, field entries and other reports regarding clients; administer various health screening tests such as blood pressure, breath test, eye test; and work with physically/mentally impaired or economically disadvantaged individuals and groups.
Any combination of education and experience which has led to the acquisition of the required knowledge and abilities. The required knowledge and abilities also can be obtained by:
Community Services Worker ll.
Two (2) years of public service experience or one year of experience equivalent to that of a Community Services Worker l.
Substitution: Fifteen (15) semester units of college course work in social sciences, ethnic studies, communications, or a closely related field may be substituted for six months of experience up to a total of one year.
Special Requirements:
California driving license
