Position Description

JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking enthusiastic, detail-oriented individuals with good communication, mathematical and analytical skills to conduct field audits of Arizona Transaction Privilege and Use Tax (Sales Tax) based on information requested from taxpayers.

Examples of the duties and requirements include:

• Reviews information to ensure compliance with Arizona tax laws and regulations.
• Examines financial records at the business location.
• Researches statutes to determine whether or not a business activity is taxable.
• Prepares work papers detailing audit findings.
• Understands accounting principles and auditing practices and is able to apply accounting and auditing techniques.
• Analyzes refund claims.
• Required travel out of state for up to two weeks at a time at least once a year. Required travel to business locations in the Phoenix area as needed as well as one week trips outside the metro Phoenix area.
• Responsible for identifying and eliminating non-value added process steps section wide and making recommendations to integrate Lean Methods into the overall continuous improvement strategy of the section.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Finance preferred. Must have a personal vehicle and a valid Arizona driver's license. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products and other computerized accounting systems. Experience with Lean management or Six Sigma process improvement methodologies a plus.
