Health Data Specialist II (COVID-19/VFC Program)
This position will be primarily remote; however, candidate may be required to report to Trenton, NJ office for monthly in-person meetings if in-office work resumes.

Position Description
The Health Data Specialist II (HDS II) will work in a state-level public health program to mitigate the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic by optimizing the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines throughout the New Jersey population. 
As the COVID-19 Program is a new program established within the Department of Health, the HDS II will have the opportunity to identify critical key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop data-based quality improvement programs to maximize internal productivity and stakeholder satisfaction.  
The HDS II will be the temperature excursion Team Lead and will be responsible for assigning excursions to staff, obtaining and reviewing incident and pharmaceutical documentation, conducting data analysis to identify which vaccines were compromised during exposure to adverse temperatures, educating healthcare providers on COVID-19 storage and handing requirements and vaccine efficacy, and conducting data analysis. 

Essential duties and responsibilities:
Use data-based recommendations to drive changes in programmatic processes 
Demonstrate proficiency in Excel and other data management systems
Ability to program and edit Excel Macros
Conduct statistical analysis using Excel, R, SAS, SPSS, Python, or Stata
Familiarity with vaccine management and immunization registries desirable
Collect and analyze data to find new ways to improve products and services
Use statistical thinking to guide decision making based on data analysis
Use statistics for healthcare quality improvement
Act as a liaison with COVID-19 vaccine providers 
Provide updates and information regarding data systems to management
Coordinate and lead meetings with providers and other stakeholders 
Participate in meetings for system specific trainings, troubleshooting, etc. 
Triage emails and other correspondence
Develop and deliver trainings as needed 
Provide technical support to internal team and providers
Edit/correct data in multiple data collection systems both providers and public registrants 
Communicate programmatic needs 
Create and update user instructional playbooks upon new enhancements to the system 
Generate summary reports and perform analysis of data within the systems upon request 
Document and track new provider registration forms. Assist in provisioning new sites and providers into system. Assist in testing new features to ensure working as expected.
