Position Summary

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day human resources efforts for the HACEP central offices and property locations. Functional areas supported include employee relations, organizational development and training, staffing, performance management, compensation, benefits, internal and external compliance, record retention and safety.

Job Qualifications and Knowledge Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field (concentration in human resources preferred)
  • Minimum 3-5 years human resources generalist experience
  • Must have 2-4 years of experience providing training to supervisors and managers
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of full cycle recruiting
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of professional to midlevel recruiting.
  • Must have direct working experience with employee relations counseling and investigations.
  • Working knowledge of the major functional areas of HR including recruiting/staffing, policy administration, employee relations, benefits/payroll administration, and state and federal employment laws including but not limited to FMLA, COBRA, ADA, USERRA
  • Excellent communication (spoken, written, and presentation) skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of HRIS systems (Great Plains and ADP highly preferred)
  • Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)

Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Interprets, applies, and explains employment laws, company policies, rules and procedures to management and non-management staff and monitors related activity to ensure consistency and appropriateness
  • Accountable for ensuring compliancy with all Company policies and procedures
  • Provides required training to staff employees
  • Oversees payroll processing
  • Assists in developing HR metrics presentation
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality concerning all company matters including, but not limited to, personnel actions, legal actions, terminations, and organizational plans
  • Serves as a point of contact with regard to employee relations issues, and assists employees and management by providing guidance and coaching, as well as conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations, reports the findings, recommends and assists with implementation of resolution
  • Supports staff full-cycle recruiting efforts, to include: Processing of staffing requisitions, assists with the development of recruiting plans, posts positions on job boards, reviews resumes/applications to initially assess candidate qualifications, schedules and coordinates interviews, conducts interviews, evaluates applicants for overall job fit, and ensures effective on-boarding of new employees
  • Supports leads the administration of all benefits programs, including but not limited to, health, dental, vision, life, disability and retirements plans: Explains benefits programs, updates employee benefit coverage records, responds to employee inquiries regarding benefits, distributes informational literature to employees, processes enrollments, changes, and terminations
  • Maintains records for all site employee information such as personnel actions, personnel data, compensation, benefits, tax data, attendance, performance review and termination date and reason
  • Supports in reviewing monthly HR benefits billing, purchasing requisitions, and invoicing
  • Administers all COBRA documentation
  • Administers all FMLA and medical/personal leave related documentation
  • Supports staff employee performance program, to include 90-day transfer evaluations, 6-month performance evaluations, and annual performance evaluations
  • Administers the site Worker's Compensation program by preparing and filing claims and reports of accidents and injuries, including the light-duty return to work program
  • Supports the participation of vendor Requests for Proposal internal process
  • Responsible for EEO State new hire reporting
  • Supports the administration efforts of all unemployment claims
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
