Job Description

Essential Functions:
1. Participates in the acquisition and disposal processes to insure all IT assets are tracked throughout the asset's lifecycle
2. Performs periodic audits of the asset management database to verify accuracy and take appropriate action to correct any discrepancies
3. Reconciles the asset management database with the City's financial system
4. Manages purchased software license inventory to insure that the City is properly licensed
5. Participates in any internal or external software audits
6. Develops and distributes hardware and software metrics and inventory reports to assist management in budget and purchase decision making
7. Identifies opportunities for process improvements.
8. May contribute the development of processes and procedures.
9. Regular, reliable and punctual attendance is an essential function of the job.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required to Perform Work
  • Knowledge of public administration and governmental environment
  • Knowledge of asset management
  • Ability to make decisions regarding policy and interpretation requiring balanced judgment.
  • Ability to conduct research, analyzes data, and compiles reports
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with all levels of management, city officials, vendors, other government agencies, other employees and the general public.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
