Knowledge, skills, education, and/or experience required?
• Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.
• Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/ internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license and any other endorsements necessary to legally operate vehicles used while assigned to this position.
• Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills in order to serve others.
• Must be able to comprehend, speak and write the English language.
• Must be able to operate a computer
Summary of Day-to-Day Duties, Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Completes service orders.
• Operates a County vehicle and drives to various locations to read a meter.
• Processes service disconnects for nonpayment.
• Re-reads meters.
• Meets with customers to answers questions and resolve problems.
• Tests meters for proper functionality.
• Cleans meter shop and truck.
• Maintains meter sites.
• Assists in the detection of leaks.
• Accesses Meter Data Management System to assists in leak detection and customer inquiries.
• Troubleshoots, replaces and programs meters, meter registers and MXUs.
• Maintains a full-time presence on the job.
• Performs other duties as assigned
