Job Summary - Financial Analyst will under general supervision, prepare and submit grant claims; assist in the design and implement computerized accounting systems and internal controls to ensure operational efficiency; assist in the development of grant related work standards and processes; participate in the auditing and reconciling of accounts ensuring the accurate and appropriate allocation of funds; review forecasts of anticipated expenses and revenues ensuring projections are based on valid economic trends; assist with the coordination of replies to auditors findings and assist with the development processes and procedures to implement audit recommendations; Performs related duties as required

The Financial Analyst (Revenue) will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:
● Subject Matter Expert (SME) for District Special Income funds.
● Manages and ensures the timely appropriation and notification of Special Income funds received by the District.
● Maintain an up to date filing system for all Special Income generating programs.
● Reviews all workflow requests related to Special Income funds submitted through the Oracle Budget Transfer and Position Control modules for approval.
● Manages all Special Income fund position requests, updates, expenditure swaps and provides detailed position analysis to the AR Manager for proper invoicing and billing collections.
● Ensures expired grant funds are removed from department and school unit budgets.
● Clears position pointer lines and sweeps position salvage line funds on a monthly basis.
● Conducts detailed personnel and non-personnel analysis and projections, estimating current and future year costs under varying scenarios.
Monitor and track programmatic income and provide data analysis and financial reporting activities.
● Reconciles school internal account transfers to school budgets and troubleshoots related issues.
● Provides monthly, quarterly, and yearly expenditure analysis for grants managed by Children First Fund (CFF).
● Supports schools, School Support Center (SSC) and other stakeholders in the resolution of issues related to special income appropriations and positions.
● Lead the annual budget process for Special Income budget load in Hyperion and manage the annual carryover process.
● Works closely with the Office of Budget and Grants Management (OBGM) to stay abreast of budget timelines, processes, and other activities that affect special income fund budgets.
● Assist in the development, presentation, and distribution of written guidelines, procedures, and protocols on allowable and appropriate use of Special Income funds.
● Participates in the compilation and analysis of fiscal data for inclusion in the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), as well as other related duties as required.
Education Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Accounting, Public Policy, or Nonprofit Administration.
Experience Required
● 3 years of grants management experience working in education or nonprofit.
● 3-5 years of budget management with increasing responsibility.
● Work experience as a Financial, Budget, or Grants Analyst (preferred)
