- Will drive either a pick-up with a small trailer or a truck equipped with signs, flags, and lights to escort oversized vehicles
- Assist the road maintenance crew in the removal of rubble, debris, and hazardous materials
- Vegetation removal
- Represent Clark County in a professional manner at all times
- Perform other duties as may be necessary .
- High school diploma or GED
- Must hold a valid driver's license
- Experience working in construction preferred but not required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound knowledge of state traffic regulations
- Must possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Perform labor for extended periods in unfavorable weather conditions such as extreme heat or cold
- Work assignments are labor intensive and require the physical ability to stand for extended periods of time and/or walk while manipulating a variety of tools to perform assigned tasks
- Must also be able to sit while driving a county vehicle for extended periods of time
- Must have the ability to navigate on uneven terrain, bend, crouch, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Adverse conditions will be encountered such as frequent noise, exposure to industrial equipment, and odors/fumes from equipment and traffic
- Ability to work overtime, as needed .
Attire:
- Clark County will provide personal protective equipment only (such as vest, hat, gloves, and safety glasses) as needed. Dress weather appropriate. We do not provide rain gear.
- S hort-sleeved shirt (at a minimum) - It should cover the top of the shoulder and has material extending down the arm to the elbow.
- Long pants - have legs that extend past the knee when the wearer stands and leaves no exposed skin on the lower leg. Cannot have rips or holes. Must fit closely to the body.
- Foot protection - Substantial footwear (boots) in good condition, made of leather or other equally firm material; slip resistant. Tennis shoes are not sufficient .
