- This field job requires driving your personal vehicle to various locations in L.A, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino County metropolitan areas, to operate and maintain a variety of electromechanical equipment and instrumentation used in monitoring air pollutants such as gaseous and particulate air contaminants, and atmospheric conditions.
- Mileage will be reimbursed
- The individual will also inspect meters, pumps, recorders, tubing, wiring, etc.;
- retrieve and replace strip charts, air filters, canisters, etc.;
- deliver the retrieved charts, canisters, and filters to the laboratory;
- prepare computer logs and reports on equipment performance and on maintenance performed;
- some basic laboratory sample preparation duties may be required;
- and other related work, as needed.
- Must be a US Citizen
- Completion of at least 34 semester or 51 quarter units from an accredited college or university in electronics, physics, chemistry, or a related field.
- Education claimed will be verified – original transcripts required. (Foreign degrees MUST have been formally evaluated for equivalency.)
- operate electronic and mechanical instrumentation;
- maintain, service and perform routine repair of instruments and equipment at air monitoring and meteorological stations;
- understand and follow oral and written instructions;
- mathematically reduce data to useable form;
- respond to emergency service calls in a timely manner;
- prepare and maintain logs, records, and reports; and communicate clearly in English;
- and perform related duties.
- California Class C Driver License and auto insurance that meets California requirements.
