Job Description:

Job Summary:
Responsible for receiving and verifying all supplies entering the facility in an accurate and efficient manner. Accurately stores stock items in the proper locations and prepares all supplies for delivery. Replenishes the par stocking areas by utilizing hand held computers. Picks and stages stock orders accurately and neatly. Delivers all supplies to the correct areas in a timely and efficient manner. Keeps the work area neat at all times.

Responsibilities:
Contributes to patient safety by supporting the System-wide programs and policies addressing a safe environment for patients and the reporting of safety concerns to the appropriate individuals.
1. Assumes responsibility for receiving all supplies delivered to the hospital by:
a. Unloading trucks utilizing tow motors, four wheeled carts or other equipment as deemed necessary.
b. Counting and sorting items received, and noting any discrepancies or damage.
c. Writing purchase order numbers on the appropriate boxes.
d. Turning in all paperwork to the Materials Management Clerk; advising the clerk of any shortages.
2. Maintains the Materials Management storeroom by:
a. Placing stock items in the correct location in the storeroom; rotating the new items behind the old items.
b. Notifying the supervisor of any problems with the stock items, including expired supplies, discrepancies in the inventory count, or any other related problems.
c. Obtaining the proper equipment (i.e. hand held computer, etc.) to count the par areas.
d. Counting the areas correctly, downloading the information into the computer, and producing a pick ticket.
e. Using the pick ticket, picking the stock items correctly, and delivering and replenishing the areas.
f. Performing cleaning assignments as required.
g. Keeping the work area neat and clean at all times.
3. Assumes responsibility for the delivery of storeroom items and supplies by:
a. Picking the storeroom orders accurately and staging them for delivery.
b. Advising the supervisor of any changes or discrepancies in the order.
c. Delivering all direct purchases and storeroom orders to the correct locations; assisting with the proper placement of goods in each area.
d. Acting as delivery driver to satellite areas, as needed.
e. Obtaining signed delivery slips from each department.
f. Returning all paperwork to the proper locations upon return to the storeroom.
4. Performs functionally related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam
Two years previous storeroom experience

Physical Requirements:
May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
Able to lift 35 pounds
