About Hollidaysburg Veterans' Home:
Located near Altoona in Duncansville, Blair County, the Hollidaysburg Veterans' Home (HVH) is the largest of six veterans' homes in the Commonwealth. The home sits on 113 acres along the main Allegheny Mountain ridge, offering an environment that is both accessible for family and friends and tranquil for residents.
Fifty-eight American flags line both sides of the avenue leading to Eisenhower Hall , the home's main building, named in honor of General and President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Visitors are greeted by a majestic eagle statue — a proud symbol of America's freedom and a reminder that true heroes live here.
Hollidaysburg Veterans' Home is dedicated to honoring its residents through exceptional care and service. The facility's professional staff — many of whom are veterans themselves — take great pride in caring for those who have served our nation. Frequent visits from active service members and local veterans' organizations reinforce the strong community support surrounding the home and its residents.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Six (6) months of experience as an Aide Trainee; or
  • One (1) year of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients/residents; and
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent.
  • Must be registered and certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Health as meeting competency requirements for nurse aide work in a long-term care unit.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Role Description:
This position involves non-professional nursing work in the care of patients/residents in a hospital, infirmary, long-term care, or domiciliary setting. CNAs provide direct daily care, assist with rehabilitation, and help maintain resident quarters. Duties are performed according to established rules and under the supervision of registered nurses and/or physicians.
CNAs participate in on-the-job and formal in-service training to maintain nursing care expertise. They assist and encourage residents to engage in prescribed rehabilitative and recreational activities, both individually and in groups. Work is closely supervised through reports, ward inspections, and observation, though routine duties are performed independently.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.
