Key Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Care: Conducts oral examinations, scaling, root planing, and removes plaque and calculus deposits. Takes dental X-rays and applies topical preventive agents (like fluoride and sealants).
Chairside Assistance: Assists the facility dentist during routine restorative, surgical, and emergency dental procedures. Prepares instrument trays and mixes dental materials
Patient Education: Instructs inmates (individually or in groups) on proper oral hygiene techniques, brushing, flossing, and nutrition
Clinic Administration: Maintains dental records, monitors supply inventory, and ensures all OSHA and infection control standards are met
High School diploma or its equivalent
