Shift/Hours: M-F 7:30am-4pm
Job Description: Length of contact: Indefinite. Possible conversion to Perm, but not guaranteed.
Candidate Background: BS or MS in science. Must have industry experience as a plant pathologist or very similar. NO PhD degreed candidates.
Job Description:

* Background knowledge in Plant Pathology/ Entomology, Agronomy, Biological Sciences, and soil science
* Assist and Maintain Plant Micro-Bioassays (lab/ Plant growing areas) for the quantification of pest control and Plant safety
* Propagate/maintain pest cultures (fungi/nematodes) under lab aseptic conditions.
* Prepare inoculum for the different Micro-Bioassays using different laboratory techniques
* Collect and Record biological observations (germination; growth reduction, damage) in laboratory/ plant growing areas; and entering such information in Dbases (paying close attention to biological details).

Additional Duties:
Assisting with the preparation of experiments and data collection. In particular the bioassays of potential seed treatment candidates in the laboratory, growth chambers and greenhouse.
Keep organization and maintenance of lab and greenhouse after tasks are finished.
Preparation of Nematode (eggs, larvae, adults) and evaluation units as necessary for trials.
Production and maintenance of seedling and plants, necessary to support research efforts in growth chambers and greenhouses.
Proper disposal of pest and plant materials following permit requirements.
Working with chemically treated seed and plant material.
