Shift/Hours: M-F, 40 hrs/wk.
Job Description: Client owns, operates, maintains, and improves numerous production facilities in Midland, MI. This job is heavily focused on asset management and engineering activities to improve existing facilities. More specifically, the person in this job serves as the critical interface between the production plant operations and the Process Automation within the Tech Center performing asset management, engineering and design of Rockwell and Siemens PLC control systems.
Key aspects of the job:
Create, document, develop, support and improve PLC controls systems.
Participate in the development of RFQs and Equipment Specifications. Responsible for programming code and HMIs for plant production in both process equipment and packaging equipment.
Responsible for implementing machine performance metrics utilizing PLCs and associated data collection software.
Integrating and networking PC/s and PLCs (TCP/IP, EthernetIP, etc.)
Work closely with the Asset PA Leads and Plant Process Control Coordinators to improve/maintain plant health performance.
Develop, support, and maintain Most Effective Technology and Book of Conventions within the Technology Center.
Provide guidance to Maintenance Technicians helping develop skillsets and strengthen the team.
Contributes to the development of information management architectures.
Develop, support, and maintain documentation on technologies and solutions provided to plants.
20+ years of industry project related experience requiring use of multiple engineering disciplines and construction crafts.
7+ years of experience in a Chemical Plant production and/or engineering environment is preferred.

Planning and organizational skills, and ability to balance multiple priorities
Strong knowledge of packaging equipment and associated peripheral equipment such as vision systems, robotic systems, scale systems and machine safety equipment.
Knowledge and use of various electronic tools to manage documents, files and technical drawings
Computer literacy and proficiency are required (Microsoft word, Excel, Power Point, RSLogix 5000, RS View, FactoryTalk Metrics, SQL database, Siemens Step 7)
