Job Summary
The position will be responsible for logging, processing, analyzing, maintaining, and fulfilling OPRA requests
Maintaining complete OPRA request files and accurate request status
Communicating with OPRA requestors; Logging, processing, analyzing and fulfilling subpoenas served upon the Department
Reviewing and processing of Notice of Tort Claims and summonses/complaints served upon the Department; Issuing and tracking the Department's litigation holds
Providing guidance and direction to Department on records management, including records retention, storage, disposal, retrieval and archiving of records
Managing the lawful preservation, storage and destructions of records
Providing support in tort litigation matters to the Division of Law, Tort Litigation &Judiciary Section through the collection of documentation and information as requested by counsel, preparation of discovery responses in support of litigation, and tracking of physical evidence relevant to litigation
Analyzing proposed tort settlements and assist in providing a response to settlement offers through established procedures- Arranging logistics for depositions held on site; and Providing general support as needed.
Education:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree.Preferred Qualities/Experience:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to handle a large workload with deadlines
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and multi-task
- Ability to learn to prepare technically sound, accurate and informative reports
- Strong customer service, writing and software skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office, Adobe Professional
- Strong time management skills
- Strong analytic skills
- Knowledge of the methods used to collect, compile and tabulate data
- Ability to conduct reviews, studies, audits, evaluations and other assessments
