QCT Modem Field Test Engineer -
Job responsibilities include conducting drive tests, troubleshooting/analyzing problems, optimizing system performance and supporting QCs customers with product commercialization.As a member of QCT's Modem System Test group, candidate will be responsible for executing field tests on QCs latest test devices and software, troubleshooting issues found, collecting Key Performance Indicators. The effort will involve multimode operations, gaining knowledge in the following technology areas: CDMA2000, 1xEV-DO, WCDMAGSM/GPRS, LTE The position will require travel in North America 75% of the time and an opportunity to relocate to critical markets for longer durations. Candidate will be working with a multi-discipline team (Software Development, System Design, Customer Support, ASIC Design, RF Circuits and Hardware Design, etc.) to test and commercialize QCT products. Successful candidate must have strong communication skills, must be an effective team player and be able to work independently.
3 years experience in Field Testing or System Optimization role. Exposure in one or more of following areas: oUnderstanding of digital communications systems, RF propagation, CDMA, OFDM, telecommunications concepts oUnderstanding of Physical/MAC layers and Call Processing concepts in one or more of the following air interface standards CDMA2000, 1xEV-DO (Rev 0/A/B), GSM/ GPRS /EDGE / Rel99/ Rel5 / HSDPA/ HSUPA/HSPA+, LTE oUnderstanding of wire line and wireless data protocol stacks including RLP, PPP, IP, TCP, IPV6, MIPV6, etc. oUnderstanding of software development and testing concepts for wireless handsets for various air interface standards oFamiliarity with IP telephony network , SIP, IMS, and IP telephony standards oFamiliarity with air interface performance analysis, characterization and optimization oExposure to programming in C, Perl, shell scripting.
Required: Associate's, Computer Engineering Preferred: Bachelor's, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
