Description/Comment:The Cloud Infrastructure Architect will develop automation for ***'s Navigation, Weather and Services (NWS) Programs. As a member of the team you will design, implement, maintain and support infrastructure services and automation in accordance with business and functional requirements, using appropriate standards, policies and processes across multiple projects. The automation components developed by the team will deploy and configure operating systems, COTS products, and related software systematically building up our complex applications from bare metal servers. This will involve multiple physical environments; AWS or related Cloud based environments as development/test environments; IA/security compliance; and database deploys. Key Responsibilities include: * Implement solutions for automation of application build, test, deployment, configuration management, and orchestration * Update designs based on Discrepancy Reports (DRs) and Change Requests (CR), through effective collaboration with the key stakeholders. * Collaboration with the Infrastructure Automation team to ensure program deadlines and milestones are met. * Communicate with key stakeholders on project engagements Required Skills: * Bachelor's degree in computer science, math or related field. * 4 + years work experience in a similar role * Experience designing and writing scripts for automation tools such as Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, or Ansible to perform operating system builds; as well as software installation and configuration * Experience in system development utilizing Amazon Web Services (AWS), and/or related methodologies * Knowledge and experience in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Ruby, or PowerShell * Automation experience in build, test, configuration and deployment in complex environments * Exceptional communication skills with extensive experience working with a wide range of leadership * Knowledge and experience of COTS software installations * Agile software development and DevOps * Good experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) * SCM experience in multiple repositories (Git, etc.) * Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus * Current US Government DoD Secret Security Clearance Desired Skills: * Experience and understanding of Jenkins * Experience as a Linux System Administrator * Experience as a Windows System Administrator
