The System & Network Administrator works as part of a small, dedicated team to assure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Cisco AS Advisory information in a rapidly evolving information technology environment.
The breadth of responsibilities includes helping to design, test, and deploy new IT services, efficiently maintaining existing IT infrastructure, and working to pro-actively manage risk. The System and Network Administrators primary duties include supporting Microsoft Windows and Linux systems, network routing and switching infrastructure, email systems, web servers, database servers, file servers, and automation initiatives.
Responsibilities also include working with employees to solve technical problems, working with teammates to trouble-shoot and fix technical issues, and consulting with business users to help them achieve their goals more efficiently.
The role requires the ability to work with technical employees, consulting teams, labs personnel, and management team to assure the success of the team.
X Troubleshooting of IT related problems
X Design, review and deploy new systems
X Upgrading, updating and patching systems as required
X Monitoring and capacity planning of systems
X Enforcement of the security policy and all associated operational procedures
X Participates on internal mailing lists
X Helps cross-train employees
X Completes time reporting in a timely and accurate fashion
X Upgrades skill set as needed to fulfill role requirements
X Possesses exceptional customer service and communication skills
X Ensures maximum helpdesk coverage, working flexible hours as needed
X Operates with high degrees of both autonomy and integrity
X Proactively identifies areas for potential technical and process improvements
Required Qualifications
X Minimum of three years experience in managing, supporting, maintaining, and trouble-shooting IT systems and networks
X Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows 10, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2016, etc.)
X Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, Debian, Cent OS, Red Hat, etc)
X Strong knowledge of networking and TCP/IP fundamentals
X Strong knowledge of VMWare ESXi
X Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
X Working knowledge of enterprise routers, switches, and firewalls
X Working knowledge of Cisco UCS platform
X Working knowledge of Openstack or underlying technologies (KVM, Ceph, Cinder, etc)
X Working knowledge of automation tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, CI/CD pipelines)
X Strong command of the English language, both oral and written.
X ESXi 6 experience required (Vcenter, datastores, access control, distributed switches, templates)
X Experience troubleshooting common LDAP issues
X Experience with DNS and Proxy configurations
X Containerization experience a plus (including docker and kubernetes)
X VLAN provisioning in a virtualized environment
X Vmware operations manager experience a plus.
X IPv6 awareness
X Basic admin experience with Centos 7+, RHEL, Ubuntu flavors of Linux
X UCS hardware/CIMC experience
X SAN experience (NetApp or EMC )

Certifications (preferred, but not required)
X Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
X Red Hat Certified Technician (RHCT) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
X Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA)
Education Requirements
X A Bachelor's degree with technology focus
