JOB TITLE:Wellness Monitor
REPORTS TO:Coordinator Health Services
DEPARTMENT/CAMPUS:Behavioral Health & Wellness
The Wellness Monitor will support implementation of health & safety protocols while promoting and maintaining a positive, safe and supportive environment. The Wellness Monitor will initially greet and provide direct interaction to employees, students, and visitors at the assigned location. The Wellness Monitor will screen for specified symptoms using supplied equipment, including non-contact thermometers, in accordance with protocols set by the Health Dept., CDC, TEA, and the District. The Wellness Monitor will promote and reinforce district safety protocols and guidelines. The incumbent will provide reminders on social distancing, wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as indicated, and offer guidance regarding further steps someone may need to take if needed. The Wellness Monitor will enter documentation on the computer and assist with contact tracing. The Wellness Monitor will receive training to perform all necessary functions to maintain the responsibilities of the job while caring for the health and wellbeing of others. This position is a temporary position working full-time hours and on an as-needed basis.
KEY FUNCTIONS, ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
Monitor and Screen
* Greet others in a professional and courteous manner, providing customer service for general inquires accordingly
* Ensure staff complete the daily online LiveWell Health Screening Survey
* Assist with basic health screening questionnaire prior to entry in the facility
* Administer temperature readings prior to entry in the facility
* Notify appropriate site supervisor of those not approved to enter site
* Manage time effectively, offering support when experiencing low volume, to maximize efficiency and time while at the screening location
Promote District Safety Protocols
* Ensure all persons have met all screening and temperature requirements, according to guidelines, prior to entry in the facility
* Provide reminders on social distancing and signage posted on site
* Provide guidance and direction to any employee that has a temperature above district guidelines, or shows other signs of illness per guidelines, on next steps to take
* Provide face coverings
* Follow protocols for work area to include tables, chairs, equipment, etc.
* Ensure proper disposal of PPE, follow all outlined hygiene protocols, including hand washing, cleaning and disinfecting of equipment used and screening station area
* Follow proper check-in and check-out process of any reusable PPE and equipment, including but not limited to, thermometer, laptops, etc.
* Model proper wearing of the appropriate level of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during all interactions as appropriate based on guidelines
* Adhere to policies/procedures as outlined in protocols
* Serve as member of the site COVID-19 Team
Contact Tracing
* Assist with contact tracing
* Follow procedures for employees and provide guidance for employees that do not meet the safety requirements, including temperature, or shows other signs of illness
* Work with appropriate site supervisor and provide information accordingly
* Support collaboration to ensure communication of contact tracing information as appropriate
* Maintain strict confidentiality of health information and data
* Ability to prioritize frequently, quickly shift tasks, and adapt to rapidly changing environment
* Must be able to work between the hours of 5:00am - 7:30pm as needed

Certification of completion of COVID-19 Contact Tracing through John Hopkins University required. Free, online course training can be located at:
* Demonstrate a strong commitment to practice all precautionary protocols set in place by facilities, CDC recommendations and government regulations along with social distancing guidelines
* Proficiency in Windows Operating System as well as Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
* Proficiency in using standard office equipment effectively
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
* Works well in a team environment, as well as independently, with minimal supervision
* Ability to consistently deliver excellent customer service
* Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting safety or security
* Bilingual in Spanish a plus

The position requires occasional walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting/carrying work related items weighing less than 40 pounds, such as books, papers and presentation materials. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Attendance at conferences and professional development is required. Work involves everyday risks and discomforts which require normal safety precautions when operating equipment or performing job duties. May work prolonged or irregular hours and must be able to maintain emotional control under stress.
This position requires extensive standing and walking and constant movement. May require travel to various locations as needed. Exposure to outdoor elements and weather.
